About Council on Higher Education
Welcome to Council on Higher Education
CHE is a statutory corporate body established by Section 4 of the Higher Education Act of 2004. The overall mandate of CHE is quality promotion, quality assurance and to advise the Minister of Education and Training. CHE consists of the Chairperson, eight (8) members appointed by the Minister of Education and Training, two Principal Secretaries and Chief Executive as an ex officio member and Secretary.

Mission Statement
To provide an environment that promotes quality assurance in higher education, enhances recognition of qualifications, mobility of learners and supports national development.
Vision Statement
By 2030 CHE will be well resourced, with strong quality assurance systems in the HE sub-sector to enable attainment of comparable and competitive qualifications.
